America is no longer the familiar country with the largest skyscrapers, and there are no mega-tall buildings on the horizon. Two skyscrapers entered the top 10 of America in recent years, but they are a small french fries among the highest in the world.
The New York 30 Hudson Yards (1,268 ft) opened relatively recently, and at the end of 2018, the Comcast Technology Center (1,121 ft) opened in Philadelphia. Both have redefined their horizons, but they would not have climbed even halfway to the Burj Khalifa (2,717 feet) in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
America has long since lost ground in this regard. And on the drawing board there are no mega-tall buildings, so it is unlikely that the United States will restore this prestige in the near future.
New York, then Chicago, claimed to be the "tallest in the world" for much of the 20th century. Then, in 1998, the Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur pulled out first place 33 feet from the Chicago Sears Tower.
We present to you the top 10 tallest buildings in the world for 2019-2020: skyscrapers, towers, television towers and residential buildings. Rating of champions in height and number of floors.
